ANSYS 2019

You can run Ansys 2019 in command line, loading ansys modulefile first:

module load ansys/last

Then Ansys 2019 can be launched on 8 CPUs in command line by executing in the console (here in SMP [shared memory] mode:

ansys193 -smp -np 8

 

To run ANSYS 2019 in GUI mode on HPC, you can use VNC [Desktop] job:

The transcript:

1) launch VNC job on one compute node as described in “Guides” -> “Connecting to HPC” -> GUI HPC VNC jobs for Windows Clients

2) Open Terminal in VNC Desktop session, type in “module load ansys/2019”, then in the same terminal “runwb2”

3) Do whatever you need to start your solution in ANSYS

3) You can close VNC session by closing VNC viewer and reconnect to tha same running session using the 2nd script in step (1) “W:\EC\STUDENT\HPC\TUNNELS_to_VNC_nodes\zeus\02_START_tunnel_to_zeus_nodes.hta”

4) to terminate your VNC job (with all running inside its Desktop), select “Logout” from “System”->”Logout..” top menu
